Darrell Handelsman
Director of Operations / Manager
- Named head coach of one of the CPL All-Star teams 4 out of 8 seasons in the league.
- Recorded 100th win with SwampDogs on July 3, 2007 in front of J.P. Riddle Stadium then record crowd of 4,312.
- Recorded 500th career win on June 24, 2010 making him just the fourth coach in summer collegiate baseball history to reach this milestone
- Handelsman enters his ninth season as Manager for the SwampDogs in 2013. He holds an amazing 241-163 record in his eight seasons in the Coastal Plain League.
- Has won eight of a possible 16 division half championships
- Led the SwampDogs to a Coastal Plain League record 41 wins in 2007.
- Named the Head Coach of the Coastal Plain League All-Decade Team, announced in 2007.
- Coach of the Year 2 times (2005, 2006)
- Coaching stints in the Northwoods League with the Madison Mallards, Waterloo Bucks and Kenosha Kroakers.
- Member of the Northwoods League All-Decade Team.
- All-time Northwoods League leader in victories with 301 and has been named to the NWL Manager of the Year 3 times (2000, 2001 and 2004).
- Played at San Francisco State University and later served collegiate coaching stints at Los Angeles Valley Junior College, New Mexico Highlands University, Cochise College (AZ), San Jose State and Centenary College (LA).
- Wife Jody, two sons Sam and Benjamin.
Jeremy Aagard
General Manager
- Joined SwampDogs staff in November 2006
- Named General Manager of SwampDogs in August 2012
Assistant GM of the Alexandria Beetles of the Northwoods League for two years
- Graduated from Alexandria (MN) Technical College with a degree in Marketing and Sales Management
- Graduated from Northland Community Technical College (MN) with a degree in Radio/TV Broadcasting
- Main responsibility over the summer is overseeing ballpark operations, along with supervising seasonal interns
- Wife Andrea
Mark Wilderman
Operations Manager/ Director of Military Affairs
- Spent 16 of his 20 years in the Army stationed at Ft. Bragg
- Retired from the Army in November 2006, becoming a full-time member of the SwampDogs staff
- Joined SwampDogs staff in July 2006
- Main responsibility over the summer is overseeing concession operations
- Son Jordan and daughter Hayley
Lew Handelsman
Instigator of Fun
- Main responsibility over the summer is to ensure that every fan entering the ballpark has a fun, memorable experience
Phillip Sims
Community Relations and Outside Events Coordinator
Graduated from East Carolina University with a BS in Exercise and Sports Science in 2012 Graduate of Gray's Creek High School Spent three years as seasonal intern for the SwampDogs Main responsiblities will be overseeing outside events and appearances
