With the holiday season behind us and 2012 welcoming us with open arms, the next year brings promises of great things to come. While 2011 was an incredible year for the SwampDogs, everyone is working toward an even bigger and better new year. Breaking the attendance record on July 3rd, raising over $30,000 for charities in our community, remaining in the top five in average attendance in the nation for summer collegiate teams and an all around great experience for the fans at "The Swamp" are truly just the tip of the iceberg for highlights of 2011. A good core of returning players will build off their playoff run last year and welcome many new players fo the Pettit Cup Championship run this year. The entire coaching staff returns with a renewed excitement for the potential of an incredibly successful season on the field. Off the field, the mascots, the front office staff and the SwampDogs Sweethearts have been active in the community the entire offseason, making preparations for the upcoming summer. The promotional schedule promises to bring back some fan favorites, as well as, numerous new and exciting theme nights and on-field promotions. "If 2011 was any indication of what's yet to come, we're extremely excited for 2012," said SwampDogs director of operations Darrell Handelsman. "The community has continued to step to the plate and be supportive and we look forward to providing an opportunity for many more life long family memories for the citizens of Fayetteville and the Sandhills region." |
