McDonald Lights Out In Wilson Print E-mail
Saturday, 14 July 2012 20:12

The Fayetteville SwampDogs won their sixth game of the season's second half on Saturday night, posting a 3-0 victory over the Wilson Tobs at Fleming Stadium. Max McDonald was outstanding on the hill once again for Fayetteville.

McDonald tossed a complete-game shutout, improving to 2-0 on the season. He allowed just five hits, and walked no one.

Fayetteville got on the board in the first inning, as Mike Tauchman (Bradley) drove home Zach Gawrych (Tampa) with an infield single. Tauchman finished the ball game going 3-5 at the plate with two RBIs.

The Dogs extended their lead in the third, as Tauchman ripped an RBI-triple to right center field, plating Tyler Ding (Tampa) from first base.

After Connor Obrochta (Tampa) singled to lead off the fourth frame, he swiped second base and advanced to third on a wild pitch. He scored when Gawrych reached on an error to give the Dogs a three-run advantage.

The next SwampDogs home game is on Monday, July 16th, where it's Faith and Family Night at the ballpark. Come celebrate a night of faith and fellowship at "The Swamp." The Dogs will play a doubleheader against the Florence RedWolves, gates open at 5:00pm with first pitch scheduled for 6:05pm.
