Fayetteville was able to exact revenge in game 2, ousting the Marlins 6-2 behind outstanding pitching.
SwampDogs' starter Kyle Norville (Barton) lasted all seven innings in the game, allowing just two runs and striking out three Marlins.
Reed Harper (Austin Peay) went 2-3 with 2 RBIs on the night, picking up his first run-scoring base hit in the first inning to get the Dogs on the board.
Fayetteville then scored three runs in the fourth, highlighted by an Andrew Parker (Towson) RBI single.
Connor Obrochta (Tampa) drove in Tauchman on a sacrifice fly in the fifth, giving the Dogs a five-run advantage.
Morehead City scored once in the bottom half of the frame to make it 5-1 SwampDogs.
After Tauchman led off the seventh with a ground-rule double, Harper drove him in with his second RBI single of the night.
The Marlins added a run in the seventh, but Norville went the distance and hung on for his second win of the year.
The next SwampDogs home game is on Saturday, July 7th, where it's Lifelong Memories Night at "The Swamp." The first 500 fans will receive a 2012 souvenir team photo courtesy of Miller Motte College.
